01 How do I create a rider account?
Download the FairTaxi app from the App Store or Google Play, tap 'Sign up', and verify your phone number with an SMS code. The app will guide you through name and email; that's it. No payment details required upfront.
02 What payment methods can I use?
Cash, card on the driver's own terminal, or a saved card in the app. Saved cards are stored securely with Stripe and FairTaxi never sees the full number. You can add or remove cards from the Profile tab.
03 How do I cancel a ride?
From the active ride screen, tap the three-dot menu and choose 'Cancel ride'. Cancelling is free in almost all cases. A €3.00 fee can apply on saved-card bookings, and only when the driver has been on the way for more than 5 minutes or has already driven over 2 km towards you; it never applies if the driver's arrival time has slipped well past the original estimate. Any fee is shown on the confirmation sheet before you confirm.
04 How do I dispute a fare or a charge?
Open the ride from your Activity tab and tap 'Dispute payment'. Add a short description and any photo evidence (e.g. receipt mismatch). Our support team reviews disputes within two business days and contacts you via the email on your profile.
05 I left something in the taxi. What do I do?
Open the ride from your Activity tab and report lost property. The driver is asked to check the vehicle. If you can't reach the driver, email support@fairtaxi.ie with the date, time, and pickup address and we'll help you connect.
06 I feel unsafe during a ride. What should I do?
Tap the "Safety" button on the active-ride screen. This shares your live location with our safety team and lets you call 112, the Irish and EU emergency number. You can also share the live ride view with a friend or family member from the same screen so they can follow your trip in real time.
07 How do I delete my rider account?
Go to the Profile tab and tap "Delete my account". You will be asked to type "DELETE" to confirm. Past ride and receipt records are kept for 7 years to satisfy Irish tax-record retention; everything else (name, email, phone, saved cards, addresses, favourites) is permanently removed.

01 How do I become a FairTaxi driver?
Download the FairTaxi Driver app, sign up with your phone number, and follow the onboarding checklist. You will need to upload your PSV driver licence, the vehicle's SPSV licence and motor tax, and a clear photo of yourself. Approval typically takes 1 to 2 business days.
02 What documents do I need to drive?
Your PSV (Public Service Vehicle) driver licence, plus the vehicle's SPSV licence and motor tax. Each document has an expiry. The app will warn you 30 days, 14 days, and 7 days before any document expires.
03 When do I get paid?
Cash and card fares taken in the car stay with you immediately, on whatever terminal you like. FairTaxi never holds your fare money. In-app saved-card fares are processed as Stripe Connect direct charges to your account; Stripe pays out daily once you've completed Stripe Connect onboarding from the Profile tab.
04 How does the FairTaxi subscription work?
Drivers pay a flat subscription for access to the dispatch platform, never a commission: €50 a month, or a €7 day pass / €12 weekend pass. New drivers currently join on the founding offer: pay nothing until FairTaxi has delivered you €1,000 in earnings or 90 days pass, whichever comes first. After that you pick a plan in the app and Stripe handles the billing.
05 Can I filter rides toward my home or another destination?
Yes, open the Going-Home / Destination filter from the driver app and set your destination. The dispatcher will only offer you rides heading roughly that direction. The filter expires automatically so it doesn't quietly block you later in the wrong place.
06 How do I close my driver account?
Email support@fairtaxi.ie from your registered address or use the Help section in the driver app, and we'll close it for you. Outstanding payouts settle via your existing Stripe Connect schedule before the account closes; ride and tax records are kept for 7 years.
For business

01 We're a small B&B, not a corporation. Is this for us?
Yes. Concierge booking works with nothing on file: book for a guest, they pay the driver. Add a company card later only if you want consolidated billing.
02 How does billing work?
One consolidated statement a month, charged to your company card on file. Itemised by employee and cost centre, available as PDF and CSV.
03 Who can book rides?
Anyone you invite as a portal user, with the permissions you give them. Staff you enrol as members can have company-paid rides; you set their spend caps.
04 Can I control how much is spent?
Yes. Set organisation budgets, per-person caps, allowed hours, vehicle tiers and locations. Bookings that breach a policy are blocked before they happen.
05 Do guests need the app?
No, and nothing is sent to their phone. Reception books from the portal, sees the driver, car and ETA there, and tells the guest. With guest-pays, the guest simply pays the driver at the end of the trip.
06 How do we get set up?
